Today, the entire automotive industry and the SEMA membership face economic, regulatory and technical challenges like never before. In light of these challenges, the upcoming election of the next SEMA Chairman of the Board takes on added importance. Without a leader who demonstrates the vision, passion and commitment to make this industry stronger, the entire automotive aftermarket could face a troubled road ahead.
Respectfully, I offer my experience, time, enthusiasm, and talents to be considered for the position of SEMA Chairman of the Board. As the head of several successful SEMA member companies, I have demonstrated the leadership abilities necessary to work through adversity in order to find the opportunities that lie beyond. If elected, you have my personal commitment that I will work tirelessly to build the team necessary to meet upcoming challenges head-on for the long-term health of all SEMA member companies and the SEMA association as a whole.
Some of you may ask “Who is this person who thinks he can lead SEMA in the most challenging times our industry has ever faced?” And I would tell you that I have been deeply involved in the specialty automotive industry for over 40 years and am co-owner and Vice President of the COMP Performance Group, which is comprised of several companies, including COMP Cams, Inc., Quarter Master Industries, and TCI Automotive, LLC. I have always been very involved with SEMA, having served three full terms on the Board of Directors (one of which included the executive committee) and on countless committees and councils, as well as many other special projects.
I have always approached critical issues from the perspective of a racer. In business, we race companies instead of cars, but just as with a winning race team, businesses must also include the best team members, tools and parts to win “the race”. Most importantly, we must have the experience and wisdom to know how to win. As the SEMA Chairman of the Board, I will work to assemble a team of board members and staff with vision, integrity, professionalism, and the willingness to make tough decisions. Together we will identify the challenges the industry faces, find the best tools for the job, and keep the association and its members strong and healthy. With the strongest team in place, there is no challenge that we cannot overcome and no race that we cannot win.
For all of these reasons, I ask for and would be honored to receive your vote for the SEMA Chairman of the Board.
